Sling Maintenance Records

Keeping Records Keeps You Prepared

We know that routine inspections are essential to the overall performance and efficiency of slings and other lifting equipment. To reduce the likelihood of problems caused by ordinary wear and tear, it is important to routinely inspect these items. To stay compliant with OSHA standards, it is also important to make detailed inspection records. Be prepared to present your inspection records to an OSHA representative in the event of an audit.

The employer shall make and maintain a record of the most recent month in which each alloy steel chain sling was thoroughly inspected, and shall make such record available for examination.

Inspections help to keep your business compliant with regulations and allow you to operate safely and productively.
