Overview
“The operating experience of your overhead cranes are great, our workers are in love with your equipments, let their work become simple and efficiency.”- Mr. Mathew, Fabrication & Welding Supervisor of Kuwait Burgan Drilling Company.
Kuwait Burgan Drilling Company was established in 1970 and listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange in 2005. As one of the largest oil drilling companies in Kuwait and the leading oil drilling company in the Middle East, they mainly engage in business in Kuwait and Bahrain, involving onshore and offshore exploration services for new oil fields in Kuwait, development of new oil wells, drilling and workover of existing oil wells, and oilfield services, etc.
In June 2021, Kuwait Burgan Drilling Company ordered 2 sets double-girder overhead cranes of 25 tons (CHD25t-16m H=6m A5/M5) from CLESCRANE, with pendant and remote control operation. So far, Kuwait Burgan Drilling Company has ordered a total of 6 overhead cranes and 2 wire rope hoists from CLESCRANE, of which 2 wire rope hoists are used to replace the old STREET hoists. These cranes are all used on the factory in Kuwait. These two 25-ton overhead cranes will be used together with the previous four 12-ton cranes. Each 25-ton overhead crane will be placed between the two CHD 12-ton cranes on each span.
Security and control are one of CLESCRANE's key concerns. With multiple cranes operating on the same span, a collision can occur if one moves to an incorrect location. CLESCRANE adds anti-collision systems to every crane to reduce maintenance costs, improve performance and enhance worker safety. These crane anti-collision systems use infrared sensors or lasers to detect distance and prevent overhead cranes from colliding with other equipment or objects.
By using a laser distance measurement sensor to measure the distance between overhead cranes and display a proximity warning, when the distance is smaller than the set distance the control system will sound an alarm and take appropriate measures. At the same time, the data measured by the sensor will also be displayed on the display screen to remind the operator to pay attention to the distance between the cranes to avoid collision accidents.
